What is truth?
Seek the truth! In order to seek it, one must ask, What is truth? For starters truth is both relative and absolute. Relative is what you believe to be fact. This kind is relative possibly to only you. It is your truth and what you believe to be true is what is happening to you. Relative truth has to do with your mental faculty of perception. It is how you see the world we live in. Here is a good example of what I mean. So investigate and question your relative beliefs. For many years I believed in lack and competition. For example for me to have more, I’d have to take it from someone else, or in general there was never enough. The start of my change came when I ran into an old high school acquaintance. Here was a fellow whom in school was known as a “trouble-maker” and not so bright. However He was doing very well for himself with a successful business. That experience started me questioning some of my beliefs. Understand, not that I was jealous, I genuinely wanted to know what the difference between him and I because I was the “good kid” and intelligent. So in my quest this verse from the bible kept troubling me. It is found in the Gospel of John chapter 10:10 (KJV) I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. I was confronted with this. Was this indeed true? I came to the conclusion that it was indeed true, that Jesus came to give us life and life more abundantly but why was I not experiencing this abundance? As I began to question this, I became aware of the fact that I was my problem. It was my thinking that was causing my situations in life. My “relative truths”. So I began a quest to change some of them and to my surprise my world began to shift. That is when I also learned about absolute truths. These are always and forever truths, regardless of my beliefs about them. Pure and simple these absolutes, just are.
