Truly, Truly, I tell you righteous judgment is not seeing the actual but seeing the potential. And in that light, I tell you the untold Easter Story that comes with this take away. God is all-inclusive. I will say that again for emphasis. God is all-inclusive. I know there are those in the religious community that will found that hard to believe. But know this, I was once in your camp, and no longer find myself there. For God so loved who? And in the day of the new covenant and last days, God would pour out His Spirit on what flesh? Furthermore, if one died for all, then all died. With that said, the reader should understand that the “all” is not known to His benefits. And His benefits show no forgiveness to ignorance. Meaning if one does not know His benefits, they cannot partake, or benefit by them. The all is included but not yet benefitted by their ignorance. The important and known Easter story is found in the arrest, death, burial, and resurrection of Christ. With sin and death being defeated. But I tell you, there is gold found in the untold or backdrop Easter story. Just what am I talking about?
Most people know about the last supper held in the upper room, were Jesus described to his disciples what was about to take place. Then from there He and his disciples proceeded to the garden of Gethsemane. I must first touch on, the fact that made the religious leaders of Christ day begin to want to have him executed. It was His statements such as: “If you have seen me, you have seen the Father”, and “I and the Father are one”. This is the message that Christ came to declare that ultimately caused His death. Labeled blasphemy by the religious leaders of the day. Now back to the garden but allow me to set this up. It was in this garden that Christ was betrayed with the kiss of Judas, signifying Christ was the one to be arrested. Now consider this, Christ knew he was about to be betrayed, arrested, and put to death. But His last prayer as a free man was first for his disciples that they would not be lost. Then Jesus shifts gears and begins praying for all believers who would believe through the disciple’s message. And I tell you, if we can claim any part of the Bible as truly ours, it would be this prayer because that is how you and I would come to believe through the apostle’s message. A great portion of scripture is written to a specific person or groups but this prayer is not mail fraud by any means. It is for us! And of all the things imaginable to ask for in prayer Christ asks for this. You have to read this: John 17:
20 “My prayer is not for them alone (meaning the apostles). I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, 21 that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. 22 I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one— 23 I in them and you in me—so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.
24 “Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see my glory, the glory you have given me because you loved me before the creation of the world.
25 “Righteous Father, though the world does not know you, I know you, and they know that you have sent me. 26 I have made you known to them, and will continue to make you known in order that the love you have for me may be in them and that I myself may be in them.” “NIV Text”
Did you catch that? Of all the things Christ could request, He requested that we would be “one”. He did not request anything else but that we would be one. Do you catch the gravity of such a request? One, not two or three. One. I believe this is the greatest truth that one can know. That God the Father and Christ the Son are in you to the very fact that you and I are one with them. ONE I say. Even to the fact as Jesus said, “If you have seen me you have seen the Father”, that very same truth is true for you and I. If someone sees you or I, they have seen the Father. Now here is how Jesus described oneness. “All that you have Father is mine and all that I have is yours.” Let me now link this with the statement that God told Moses of who He was. God said, “I am that, I am.” You cannot be separated from Christ or the Father or their love, they are one with you. What did Christ say? Never will I leave you? I quite sure He said that.
This is the power that changes everything in your life. Listen to Paul telling the Ephesians. In chapter 4: 17 So I tell you this, and insist on it in the Lord, that you must no longer live as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their thinking. 18 They are darkened in their understanding and separated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them due to the hardening of their hearts.
Get this, the Gentiles were separated not because they were, but because of their thinking and because of their ignorance (their “not knowing”). Hey, I may have said something to you. Read it again. You are not separated in actuality but only in your thinking and perhaps your ignorance. That is just because you don’t know. But that is all changed now. Because now you know. Happy Easter and now you know the rest of the story as Paul Harvey used to say.
